JF
Ranch
(aka JF Quarter Horses and Miniature Donkeys) is located in
the picturesque and fertile Skagit Valley on 60 acres in Northwest
Washington State. Julie Jones is dedicated to raising and selling
high quality AQHA reined cowhorse and reining prospects as well
as colorful miniature donkeys with correct conformation and
wonderful temperaments. |
Of
course Todd and Julie met while on horseback at a team penning
in 1992. It wasn’t long before they became interested
in competing in NRHA classes and eventually started showing
in AQHA and NRCHA events. |

In
1998
they acquired the well-bred mare, Harley Days (Day Olena x Candis
Chex Too by Bueno Chex Too) from Matt and Leslie Day in Bend,
Oregon. The Day’s are well known as the breeders of NRHA
Futurity Champion Todaysmyluckyday, and NRCHA Futurity Champion
Smart Zanolena. Since the purchase of Harley Days, Julie has
focused her attention to raising foals sired by the best cutting,
reining, and reined cowhorse stallions in the industry. These
stallions include Dual
Peppy, Ill
Be Smart,
Lenas Wright On, Dealin
Dirty, Diamond
J Star, Yellow
Roan Of Texas, Nitro
Dual Doc, Tangys
Classy Peppy and Playboys
Buck Fever, Resulting foals enter into training their
2 year old year and are started on cattle prior to their sale.

During
1998 Julie also purchased her first registered miniature jack
and jennet from Meadow Wood Farms owned by Loyal McMillan,
part of the Nordstrom family. The donkeys are smart, have
great personalities, and are fun to train and maintain. During
2005 she purchased a proven 32 inch 1999 spotted jack, Circle
C Highlite (Circle
C Desperado x Carrie
by RVB Kelly) from Kathy Loudamy, Brownsboro Texas.
He has excellent conformation, is drafty in build, and has
a loving disposition. With limited breeding, Circle C Highlite
has sired a ACOSA Grand National Jennet and second place winner
at the 2006 NMDA Nationals in a class of approximately 30
and in August 2007 took Champion Jennet at the NMDA National
Finals Halter class held in Oregon!
JF Ranch is currently accepting breedings
to a limited number of Jennets for 2007 and now booking for
2008 to Circle C Highlite. JF Sunlite (upper right) is an
example of the great spotted color he is passing on and of
course possesses his wonderful type and temperament. In August
2007 Flight Of Fancy Cardinal RG (30.5" sorrel jack,
My World Winston x Sunset Acres Ladu Slipper) was added as
a second herd sire! He has been shown in tough Texas competition
and placed second twice. His foals are drafty, correct, and
loveable. Julie is very excited about upcoming foals and are
always looking for Quality Jennets to add to the herd.
